How to Get the Mysterious Fossil in Travel Town
Many players get stuck on the fossil order for days. Here is the full path from the first drop to the finished item, in plain steps.

The Mysterious Fossil is a long quest item. Players report that it starts with the Beach Bucket, then moves through Mysterious Letters, an island, two fossil halves and a set of special orders. It can take days, because the first step is random.

Step 1: Collect Mysterious Letters
Players say Mysterious Letters drop rarely from the Beach Bucket. Keep using it and be patient. This is the slowest part, and there is no known way to speed up a random drop.
Step 2: Merge toward the island
Reports say you need about four letters. Merge them up, and you also work with treasure maps. This leads to the Mysterious Island. Do not rush the merges. Check each time that you are merging matching items.
Step 3: Get the first fossil half
The island is said to give the first half of the fossil. It can also give smileys and diamonds. Players mention that tapping it more than once can give small rewards before the half appears, so keep tapping and watch the board.
Step 4: Finish the special orders
After the first half, a special order asks you to complete a set of normal orders, which players say is 10. Finish them to get the second half. Then an order appears that needs both halves. Deliver it and you receive the full Mysterious Fossil.
